Frequently asked questions.
What do you provide on board?
Your charter includes bottled water, soft drinks, ice, and all necessary toiletries. We also provide towels and sunscreen for use onboard.
Can I bring my own food and drinks?
Absolutely — you are welcome to bring any food or beverages you'd like to enjoy onboard. Elysian is a BYOB vessel. We also offer premium catering options — please inquire when booking if interested.
Do you serve alcohol?
We do not serve alcohol onboard as we do not hold a liquor license. However, all charters are BYOB — you're welcome to bring your favorite wine, beer, or spirits.
Can I have more than 12 guests?
By U.S. Coast Guard regulation, private yacht charters are limited to 12 guests maximum.
Are dogs allowed onboard?
Yes — we are dog friendly! Well-behaved dogs up to 40 lbs are welcome aboard. Please notify us in advance if you plan to bring your pup so we can prepare accordingly.
What happens if I arrive late to my charter?
We operate on a strict schedule and are unable to extend charters for late arrivals. Please plan to arrive early to ensure you enjoy your full time on the water.
What happens if we cannot sail due to weather?
Safety is always our first priority. If the captain determines conditions are unsafe, you can reschedule within 12 months or receive a full refund. We do sail in light rain — our covered cockpit and salon keep you comfortable — but not in high winds, storms, or rough seas.
What is your cancellation policy?
Charter fees are non-refundable once booked, but we’ll always work with you. Day and sunset charters are fully transferable to another date within 12 months (subject to availability). For overnight and multi-day charters, deposits are refundable or transferable if you cancel more than 90 days before your charter; within 60 days the charter fee is non-refundable. In all cases, if unsafe weather (at the captain’s discretion) or a forecast named storm prevents your charter, you may reschedule within 12 months or receive a full refund. We recommend trip-cancellation insurance for overnight and Bahamas charters.
Is there a security deposit?
There’s no cash deposit. A refundable $1,500 pre-authorization hold is placed on a credit card before boarding to cover any accidental damage, and released within 7 business days after your charter.
Are alternate pick-up and drop-off locations available?
Yes — alternate pick-up/drop-off locations throughout the Hamptons are available when feasible. If a public dock is available and suitable for our vessel, we are happy to accommodate. Please note that additional time & fuel surcharges may apply depending on the location.
Can we swim during the charter?
Yes! Conditions permitting, we often anchor in beautiful areas ideal for swimming and using our onboard water toys. Bring your swimsuit!
Are small children allowed onboard?
Of course — family charters are very welcome. Children under 10 must be supervised by an adult at all times and must wear a properly fitting life jacket while onboard. Please let us know in advance if you’ll be bringing children so we can prepare accordingly.
Is gratuity included?
Gratuity is not included in your charter fee. A customary 15–20% gratuity for the captain is appreciated for excellent service.
